First time Maggie has been here. She loved it! Early start so it was quiet with great weather.
2022.11.06 · 1.5 hrs · 6.5 km · 700 m gain
Achieved my 2022 goal of 100km vertical gain today. -15C temp and 20cm of fresh snow resulted in a slow walk.
2021.09.06 · 4 hrs · 24 km · 850 m gain
1hr 29m to Powderface Ridge via Powderface Creek Trail. Return via Prairie Link and Prairie Creek trail.
2020.06.22 · 3.5 hrs · 10 km · 800 m gain
South peak via Baldy Pass. Other options include North Peak and West Peak which is a great scramble from three different directions!
2019.02.18 · 2 hrs · 5.5 km · 850 m gain
East End of Rundle aka EEOR. Very sunny but cold today. Minus 31C start. Minus 24C end.
2018.04.06 · 8 hrs · 14 km · 914 m gain
New route via Baldy Pass and west ridge to summit. 2 to 5 ft of snow on average. 6 to 8 ft likely in spots. Very difficult to travel quickly.
2017.04.14 · 8 hrs · 8 km · 1426 m gain
Loop via Echo Canyon and ACC trail. Routes are getting better as winter transitions to spring. I completed over 2 hours faster than last time here 3 weeks ago. VERY windy on summit and eastern upper ridge. See video for details.

Dave and I took advantage of the longer daylight to head out a little farther today. Easy scramble with BIG views in all directions! Check out Google Photos for more pics...
2015.08.18 · 7 hrs · 9.5 km · 1290 m gain
Via Wasootch Peak. Airy ridge between the two peaks is great fun! Descent via scree slope north of summit.
2015.08.13 · 11 hrs · 18 km · 1962 m gain
Via Midnight Peak and Porcupine Ridge. AKA Bryant N4. Not much scrambling on this long ridge walk loop but still lots of fun if you are looking for a longer day hike. Peaks include Midnight Peak; Midday Peak; Sunset Mtn; Belmore Browne (optional); Sunrise Peak; Tiara Peak; Porcupine Ridge summit. Big thanks to Jaime @ joyride.ca for suggesting!
2014.08.30 · 5.5 hrs · 12 km · 1240 m gain
Quick trip up and back. No loop. Had to hustle to avoid incoming rain. Windy and cool today. A safe route with NO EXPOSURE is to come off the connecting ridge from Mt MacEwan to the climbers left and pick your way down along the vertical rock wall of the ridge. This is slow going but worth the effort to avoid the risky down climb options.
2014.08.01 · 7.5 hrs · 10 km · 1177 m gain
Loop with ascent via west ridge and decent via east ridge to Grotto Pond Peak. Took a couple of hours longer than it should have due to difficult decent off trail. Next time I will decend via Anklebiter Ridge to Grotto Pond.
2012.12.13 · 5 hrs · 11 km · 1000 m gain
What an aptly named peak! The wind howled today despite the weather forecast for relatively calm winds. Even though the air temp was -6 C the wind chill had my hands numb several times. Time and distance is from Driftwood Day Use area.
